SA / Botswana in late Feb

I have been to East Africa on many occasions and to Kruger in August. Am considering Kruger &/or Botswana in Late Feb 2006. How is the weather and game viewing in February as compared to August ?Thanks.

Weather in SA is warm and can be hot, over 100. Also there is a reasonable chance of rain. The bush is green and there is plenty of cover for the game, so viewing is not as good as in the dry season. But the animlas are usually in good shape, and the secenry looks better, also there are many more birds because its summer. August will have a tendency to be cool, if not cold. It is over half way through the dry season, so water is usually scarce and so the animlas tend to be more concentrated. My experience is with Linyanti, Okavango, Tuli and Sabi Sands.

In my experience the game viewing at Mala Mala has always been terrific, whatever the season.
