Royal Egypt

We have been in touch with Royal Egypt. Has anyone used them before? Also, they are suggesting the ship called the Nile Story. I have done a lot of research on ships and this one has not come up. I have heard good things about Oberoi Philae, Sonesta Moon Godess and Amarco. What do all the experts think. This is the itinerary from Royal Egypt:

Mena House Oberoi Hotel Dec/27-31 <> Nile Story Cruise Ship Dec/31-Jan/07 <> Luxor/Luxor Raouf International Hotel/Sharm Jan/07-10 OR Sonesta Hotel/Sharm El Sheikh Jan/07-10 Plaza Hotel/St. Catherine Jan/10-11 Marriott Hotel/Cairo Jan/11-12 Bed& Breakfast <>

anitas - In the past few years, there have been so many new boats added to those well known names, it's difficult to keep up. As to the Nile Story - this is another one of those, and though the decor doesn't make me jump for joy, the cabins seem to be of more than sufficient size.

As to the known Oberoi Philae or the Sonesta boats might be more expensive, you often find that their meal services and quality of food is better. we're not dealing with our understanding of cruise boats - not Carnival, or Crystal, or Rennaisance, etc. - these are completely different. Besides, most of the time, you're not on board... sightseeing during the mornings and late afternoons.

Otherwise, the itinerary looks fine with a longer cruise than usual. And it'll make "williamburns" happy, because you're dealng with an Egyptian company.

Base your decision on your schedule, sights visited, cruise days and sights, and your budget. No one can know all the cruisers on the Nile... there are just too many. You'll have a wonderful time in Egypt.

The Oberoi Philae is very nice - dining room was lovely, staff very friendly. The thing that clinched it for us was each room had their own private balcony. Most of the other boats have windows or portholes, but it was nice to go out on our balcony with a glass of wine to watch the sun set. We booked through SeeEgypt.
