It was cloudy for nearly the duration of my stay. I experimented with my flash, an external Sigma EF-500, a bit but really think the only occasion it would have helped was for my cheetah photos. I did not really feel it necessary during any other occasion, including my photos of the Masai.

Rocco, where were the photos of the chameleons taken? I saw lots in Madagascar, and a very few in the Sabi Sands, but I don't remember seeing any in Kenya or Tanzania. Thanks

The chameleon was found near Tarangire Tree Tops. My guide actually had to stop the vehicle as it crossed the road, and once I saw the size of it, I was able to get down from the vehicle and take my time with the photos.

Rocco these are great! I haven't posted my Tanzania pics or recap yet, but as always, your pics put mine to shame!
I love the elephant ones, the early zebra ones and the one of the 3 lions licking each other. Excellent!

Outstanding photos!! Lion in the tree is an exceptional sighting and well captured.

Seeing these has me needing to clear some time to get my album and trip report done. Having just arrived home on Friday I have simply moved all the pics to the computer only.

Regarding some earlier comments about ISO settings, after seeing my photos at my monitor at work, I do see how the pictures of the Masai would appear very dark on the wrong monitor. I edited these photos for their best possible appearance on my laptop monitor. I trust my laptop monitor most since it is a six month old computer, compared to my monitor at work that is likely six years old and not the best measuring stick.

I am still recovering from my toe injury and spent a few hours in the hospital tonight. Once I am able, however, I will upload more photos. I did upload another dozen photos yesterday, but now it is slow going since it often takes an average of about five minutes to edit and upload a photo. The main thing was to get my favorite photos up first, but there are still some CF cards that have not even been downloaded yet.

Thanks for sharing those great photos. Wow, everything looks so green. We were just in Tanzania last month - it's unbelievable how the landscape has changed in a few weeks.

I really enjoyed your photos too - over lunch today at work. Missed my mouth with the noodles at one point I was so engrossed - very lucky I was wearing black trousers today. I got quite a little crowd around too.

Welcome back Rocco! I can hardly wait for your trip report since my husband and I are going to be staying in many of the same places you did. We are going to Africa in August. I showed my husband your fantastic pictures and we both are very excited.
Can you recommend specific rooms at
Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, The Palms, Tarangire Treetops and most of all The Canal House? We will be staying at all of them and I wondered if any of the rooms are more desirable than others or are there any drawbacks to any of the
rooms?

I have added about 20 more photos...about half are in the sequence they rightfully belong and about half are at the very end.

Of particular interest is a FIVE LEGGED elephant towards the end! ;)
