Riad in Marrakesh for solo traveler

Hi, I will be in Morocco for 10 days in Nov and am traveling solo. I have booked everything except a riad in Marrakesh for three nights. I would love a central location at a cost of less than $120/night. BTW: Before writing this, I searched the site, but noticed that most recommendations were quite a few years old so would love more recent Fodorite recommendations.

Thank you in advance,
Lisa

Our son and I traveled to Marrakesh in May 2017 and stayed at the Riad Andalla. The Riad was basic (no pool, for example); they also provide breakfast as well as airport service; and with notice can prepare dinner (quite delicious)to enjoy on the terrace. Riad Marrakech - Riad Andalla

I stayed in 2 different riads; I loved the first, L'Orangerie, but is over the budget your budget; it is very well run, stylish, and great location: Riad Orangeraie Rates | Riad l?Orangeraie

The second, Riad du Rabbin, is in the mellah; I have mixed feelings about the place. It is small (3 rooms) and the staff are oddly not always present. We stayed 2 nights and felt that we were sometimes the only ones in the building. But the rooms are well maintained, good amenities, good breakfast. One of the things that I liked visually from their website is the small tiled pool - it was paved over but it is still on their website, and this irritated me no end. I kept looking for the pool because it's such a pretty element, and it felt very deceptive to show something that is not there. Still, their prices are good and the room was very comfortable and there was good wifi: https://www.riad-du-rabbin.com/

Both have rooftops where breakfast is served.

Thanks lisakinnear, glad you liked the trip report. I know there are a lot of options in Marrakech - it's choosing one that is hard.

We stayed at Dar Rocmarra in the medina and enjoyed it thoroughly. No pool but a pleasant roof top area. Rooms were clean and food was great. Make sure to get the transfer from the airport to them as it is tricky to find the first time. After we got our bearings, we walked everywhere and always found our way back.
