Rhinos Mating

I posted this in another thread where it did not really belong. I am assured that the quality is not as bad as I had thought my broadband here in SA is not that much faster than a dial up. The video was taken by my wife.

Sorry forgot to say it was filmed at Okakueja Waterhole in Etosha and may have been witnessed by another fodorite LEONARDG.

Amazing … how lucky to see that! What a patient rhino cow, although I got the feeling that the male was spending rather a lot of time wondering how he was ever going to get down. What time of day was it? Did you get still photos worth showing?

Twaffle,

Unfortunately no photos worth showing! The animals were at least 75 metres away out of flash reach and even on ISO6400 wide open at F4 there was not enough light to get a fast enough shutter speed for a reasonably sharp picture.

Try a Better Beamer on your flash next time, Ken, it will make a difference.
It takes up very little space and I always take mine when shooting wildlife.
Getting it lined up correctly, is the hard part, but once mastered, is definitely worth it.

Cheers
Marc

More black rhinos will result hopefully. Thanks for the post.
