Restaurant recommendations--Tel Aviv or Herzliya?
Does anyone have any current recommendations for good restaurants (not kosher) in Tel Aviv and Herzliya? I've done some searching but most of the answers are kind of dated, especially with respect to Tel Aviv. Thanks in advance for any help!

Most restaurants in TA and Herzliya (except in hotels) are not kosher.
The listings in Time ouT Tel Aviv english edition are very descriptive http://digital.timeout.co.il/english/ I like Lehem Erez in Herzliya--innovative, eclectic casual, not very expensive |
Tel Aviv: 'Mika' - excellent meat and Japanese food. 03-5283255
'Yoezer Bar Yain' good meat and wine. at Old Jaffa. Herzlia: 'Tanduri' - a nice traditional Indian restaurant at the heart of the trade center. 'Zozobra' - an Asian food restaurant, informal and efficient. 'Shuri-Buri' - fish and seafood, tasty and not fancy. All three are in a distance of several minutes' walk from one another. |
Tel-Aviv:
Rothschild Blvd: Dita (modern), Stuzzi (pizza), La Centrale (French) Herzliya: Kyoto (sushi), Agadir (grill), Tandura (Indian). Jaffa: "Dr. Shakshuka" (near the flea market) - great N. African food. |
Herzlia Restaurants:
There are many very good restaurnts in Herzlia this is just a short list - The best - Segev. It is pricy but their "business lunch" is a very good deal. This, by the way, is true to almost all the restaurants in Israel. Mina Tomei - a fusion Asian great place. Another branch of this great place is in Ibn Gvirol St in Tel Aviv. Kyoto - Japanese Ocean - sea food Sebastian - Very nice bistro style Moses - if you miss home. a good upscale hamburger and American style food. An additional branch in Tel Aviv. White Hall - steaks. Also in Tel Aviv. Kazanki - shrimps (very reasonably priced). A branch in Ha'Arba'a St in Tel Aviv. Giraffe - fusion, Asian Lehem Erez - Bistro Yakinko Tanaka - expensive upscale Japanese Beni Hadayag - Fish Running Sushi - guess what... Pat Kua - Chinese Odeon - Bistro. Also in Ha'Arba'a St in Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv restaurants: Raphael - chef restaurant Martha - good food Bistro - bistro style Gilly's - mostly meat place (steaks etc) in the Tel Aviv port area where lots and lots of restaurants are. Great area to walk in the evening. Mul Yam - seafood. Considered the best in Tel Aviv. Also extemely expensive. Margaret Tayar - a quaint fish restaurant in Jaffa near the clock tower. A real experience. I can continue on and on. Is that enough? And more... |
Rafael is delicious.
