restaurant in Cairo for New Years? No hotel restaurants!

Can anyone recommend a restaurant for New Years Eve dinner? Something local and good.
Thanks

I recommend either of these, although the second one is not as modern and I do not know if they serve alcohol:

AbuElSid is a traditional Egyptian Restaurant-walking didtance from the Cairo Marriott. We took our guide Ahmed as did Abbey 97 on our last night in Cairo-When you walk in you are in another world-food was wonderful. I think there was alchol-No alchol at Al Azhar Park-but a beautiful setting-enjoy

I agree that anything on the river would probably be the best bet. Depends on what you want. There are the Nile Dinner Cruises that will be more of a party atmosphere. If you just want good food, do one of the others. Just yesterday a group of us were discussing the variety of restaurants on the Pasha 1901 boat. There is a good steak place I guess, an Indian restaurant, Egyptian and more. Each of those floating, but stationary boats may have as many as 7 - 9 restaurants EACH on them.... certainly no less than 5 or 6 to choose from.
Any would be nice, but probably not a big party.
