Which is the best sound & light show?

Planning some options for a possible trip to Egypt. Among these are the following sound & light shows:

Pyramids & Sphinx
Temple of Philae
Karnak Temple

Would obviously like to see all but if I could only pick one, which one would be the best?

Appreciate your comments.

We hadn't prebooked any of the three until we arrived in Egypt. When we asked, everyone said Karnak Temple was the best. And since this was the one we did, cannot advise on the others.

Besides the fact that Karnak Temple is the largest area to explore - you have the experience of walking thru the entire complex before arriving at the seating at the pool, where the stories of Pharonic Egypt continue and concludes.

The night is cool, the ground under your feet is uneven, so DO HAVE A FLASHLIGHT. I believe the prices at each site are the same - about USD$20.

The presentation is done in various languages are different times, so be certain to check the schedule. The program runs about 1-1/2 hrs. From the temple you can walk or take a taxi or caleche to your Nile Cruise boat or hotel.

Believe the program at Philae is similar but the temple area is smaller and you have to go out to the island by boat at night; at the Pyramids program, I don't believe there is much walking, rather mostly a seated performance, but the backdrop of the Pyramids must be amazing.

Check with your guide or hotel and see what they might recommend. It's lots of fun.

We attended the pyramids light show last year.
Sandi is correct; there is no walking -it is a seated performance. It is hokey (we were forewarned), but seeing the pyramids and sphinx highlighed under the starry sky was pretty awesome. I would recommend it for that reason alone.

We also saw only one - the Pyramids/Sphinx show. Agree it was hokey, but it was our last night in Egypt and it was a way to say goodbye. The light part was far better than the narration. Several others on our tour went to 2 or 3 shows at different places and suffered from sound and light overkill - they advised seeing only one, and did not have a strong preference.

Thank you all for the feedback. We'll probably pick one and enjoy it! Can't wait.

Thx again.

The sound and light show at Abu Simbel is absolutely breathtaking much better we thought than the Karnak or Pyramid ones. You do not have to stand.
