recommend a riad in marrakech
hi travelers,
please recommend a riad for a 3 night visit to marrakech next summer. we'll be there on our honeymoon, so we can splurge a little more than usual, up to around $100/night (more if you convince me that we can't miss the place (: ). since it will be high summer (july), a small pool or cool location would be appreciated. thanks in advance! |
Riad Enija is magical and dead centre. I would highly recommend them.

Riad Kaiss is really charming. Its courtyard is featured in many books about Morocco. We had a Safir suite. Very beautiful. They put rose petals on your bed and virtually everywhere every single day!!! It was not even our honeymoon. I don't know about the rate during summer. Probably cheaper than winter (winter is high season). We got back from Morocco just three days ago. We were there for two weeks. We however prefer Fez to Marrakech. Less pollution, less traffic, people are nicer, prices are cheaper, the medina is MUCH more interesting (and bigger/older). Everyone we met shared the same views about these two cities. Marrakech gets a lot more hype but Fez is actually more interesting. We also had a much more pleasant experience carpet shopping in Fez (we got ripped of in Marrakech).

Hello,
Villa des Orangers is a wonderful place -- very centrally located but also a cool, quite refuge from the medina, which can be a bit overwhelming at times. There is a fountain and a lovely pool, and the scent of the orange trees is lovely. The restaurant is also one of the best in the city. www.villadesorangers.com Cheers, Julian |
