Recomendation for a 4-6 day trip to Morrocco
 

My kids, in their early 20's, are planning a trip to Morocco and we need some advice,They are thinking about going to Marakesh with an excursion to Essaouira. Does anyone have any recommendations as to whether that should visit those places or advice on other places to go to in Morocco.

I loved Essaouira, but I had spent three weeks in Morocco by that time, and recognized that it's more Mediterranean than Moroccan. Without knowing their interests can't be a lot of help, but there are mountains and deserts that they'd be missing out on. I don't know if I'd go all the way to Essaouira if I were only in Morocco for 4 to 6 days. I'd probably just go up into the Atlas mountains, perhaps to Taroudant for a quick overnight and then back. You could certainly go to Essaourira for a night from Marrakesh, but you'd spend a lot of the time traveling, so if they decide to do it, I'd recommend a 6-night trip, spending 2 of the nights in Essaouria.

If it's only 4 days, then they shouldn't go anywhere much at all except a quick day-trip up to the mountains.

In my opinion, both Fes and Marrakech are must-sees in Morocco, though of course not near each other.
If Marrakech is a must for this particular trip, then an overnight in Essaouria is a great idea, if a beach/resort-y area is wanted. An overnight excursion into the Sahara is another option--tours are offered.

i think is better for you visite Marakech and Fes and desert erg chebbi for spend the night with the berbere familly en the tente is bst experience.

I just talked with a friend about this, and I agree with uru but would add Essaouria. My friend lived in Rabat for a few summers and said Marrakesh and Essaouria are must-sees. He also recommended a drive from Marrakesh through the mountains to the desert. He used a particular driver and I can get you the name if you want, since the driver still lives in Marrakesh. I posted photos of Marrakesh on my blog today, for daydreaming / trip-planning purposes.... I would love to do Marrakesh and then drive to Essaouira for a few days, personally, and then maybe Fes! My family and I plan to travel to Fes in late February. We would like to plan an overnight camel trek in the Sahara and are looking for the most affordable way to do so. I am welcome to suggestions from anyone, as well as recommendations for a good camel trekking guide.
