I've just added the bulk of the additional elephant shots I was talking about, there are just a few more to come over next days.

Most are there now.

Kavey,
I just checked my mail and "Tomboy" was there. Oh...it is just so precious!!
I was hoping I'd get it before I left for Greece. Yay!

Another Africa Fodorite just put through a purchase of the Tomboy print. THANK YOU.

(I can follow which referral link was used, you can see I have included fodorsafrica tracer in the link provided, but no information on the purchaser is provided, quite rightly, so I don't know who to thank more specifically).

THANKS though!

That's great news.
I found the perfect frame for my "Tomboy" over the weekend. So he's up temporarily in our rental house until our renovation is completed where he'll find a nice permanent home on a wall among my prints from Africa.

I hope you raise lots of $$ for David Shepherd's org. Small donations can add up to big dollars for conservation. Helping to save the "tomboys" of the world is important so we can enjoy many more pics like your's and the ones all of us fodorites take while in Afica!

Thanks, Clem!
Much appreciated!

Divewop, yes, I am hoping lots of small donations can add up to a large amount. This project runs till end of 2004 but the biggest challenge is communicating that web link outwards to generate continuous traffic. I set the prices to a level I thought would allow more people to buy more prints as I felt lots of small amounts would be better than lots a few high cost ones.

After hearing Divewop received the prints I am anxiously awaiting mine. I have picked out some really nice frames for them.
I also passed the link around to other Africa lovers at my work place. I hope they too will make a purchase or two. Thanks again, Kavey.

Ok, Kavey. After going back and forth and back and forth, I finally decided on the two prints that just hit me the first time I saw them. "Across the Mara" and "A Mara Morning." They just do it for me, and I hope that our purchases help the wildlife we all love so much. You go, girl!!!

It looks like someone from here passed the link on to a cruise interest website so thanks very much for that.

I could tell because the link above includes the fodorsafrica tracer which lets me know when I get a referral visit to the prints that the original link was the one I posted here.

Don't worry, it doesn't allow me to see who has visited though.

No new purchases recently but the profit so far for DSWF is over $190.

My photo also came when I was gone and it is so much more than what I saw on the website. The depth of color is amazing. Can I ask what stock of photo paper you are using to get that kind of quality? It's matte but not flat. Just beautiful.

Hi Kavey,

Congrats on the response you are getting and power to the forum for giving you space.

I'll check the info as soon as I can.
Shepherd was incredibly popular in the Uk when I lived there in the sixties and it good to know that his work still goes on.

Perhaps you can help me with my little non-commercial project: Introducing the idea of "adoption" of wild life in Iceland. (I have just left a posting on the forum):
My starting point is finding an agency in South Africa that handles "adoption" of elephants.
You just might prove to be my missing link!
One never knows which seed will sprout!

On a recent first time visit to South Africa I came across a beautifully crafted series of "animal" key-rings made in leather. I bought fifty of the elephant ones to give to friends instead of sending postcards and they were really impressed by the quality of the design. Could this be an idea for your Conservation Charity?

All the best!

Dear Clem
DPC Prints use ezprints.com as their printers and they use "Fujicolor Crystal Archive professional photographic paper, processed through professional Fuji Hunt Chemicals. The archival qualities of this process is 50+ years, before fading may occur. This is the same process that you would find at your better pro-labs."

Jona
I don't know much about animal adoption agencies but someone here might well do. Wishing you absolutely best of luck!

Current total profit raised, including contribution of the print site owners' share = US$299.

Not a single additional sale since my last post so I ask your indulgence as I top this thread another time.

I would ask my fellow Fodorite Africaphiles to consider purchasing a print for an upcoming birthday, Christmas, Hannukah or other celebration either for themselves, for work colleagues or for friends. Alternatively, if you write gift lists for your family with ideas of things you'd like to receive (common in larger families I believe) perhaps you'd consider listing one of these prints?

I'd also appreciate any assistance in simply promoting this project and prints.

The link again is http://kavey.dpcprints.com and all prints with DSWF in their title are being sold to raise funds for vital wildlife conservation work.

Thank you so much for your time.
