Qatar Airlines - any comments please?
Am in the process of booking my honeymoon to The Maldives, flying via Qatar Airlines. Has anybody any experience flying with them? How is the comfort, food etc etc....... This is quite important to us as it is a 12 hour flight from the UK - and having spent all our money on the wedding and honeymoon, we can only fly coach (economy)
Many thanks to you! |
Lets try again! have posted this on airlines message board too....

I lived in Qatar a year and flew Qatar air all the time and in fact to the Maldives in coach. They are fabulous, new planes, great stewardardesses, middle eastern food far better than any US company. Fly them with comfort!

Can't comment on the airline with specifics, but airlines of most Muslim countries do not provide alcohol (free or for a fee). Check on this and if not, inquire whether you can bring your own small flask.

As jeajohnson said, lot of new planes as Qatar tries to pump up the tourism angle. Lot of international pilots and new planes. No alcohol issues. In my experience alot of "Muslim" airlines offer alcohol (Qatar, Etihad, Etisalat, Gulf Air, Oman Air, MEA -given majority population, Malaysia, Garuda) vs Saudia and Royal Brunei. Do not know about Yemenia.

Is alcohol really an issue with people flying? Isn't the advice for flights to avoid and take plenty of hydrating liquids? It seems very attractive to me to not have to sit next to someone who is four sheets to the wind and agressive with cabin crew 'cos they wont serve them any alcohol.
Here's a proposal. Make all airlines smoke free and dry!! ;-) (Simon takes a step back and waits for the flack!) |
