private guide VS lodge provided guide?

Hi, I just returned from an amazing vacation. My findings on the private guide vs lodge guide, is that you can't beat having a van all to yourself. we were 3 people & still were climbing all over each other to get good photos of the animals. A 4th person would be OK too, but anything over 5 people per van, & you'd really be restricted in any movement within the van.
As far as knowledge of the area, after speaking to some of the people that used the lodge guides, I do believe those guides have a better understanding of the animal habits of the area, & although some of the guides communicate their findings over the CB radio, not all guides do, in fear that the arrival of other vans, might scare away their findings, which are usually in the form of predators.
