potential itinerary Plett to Capetown middle of April
We have 6 days at the end of our SA trip before we fly home.We will have completed a safari,/time in Capetown and driven route 62 via winelands,Calitzdorp to Plett and then drive back to Capetown.
Are we better to travel back through Mossel bay Swellendam on route 2 to see a different scenery or retrace our steps on route 62 to Capetown mid April?
We have 3 days in Plett.Should we spend more time in that area?We will have had our Capetown time already so we just going back for our flight home.
Any suggestions welcome. We did a similar trip in 2010 but have not yet travelled on route2.We use a rental car.

My choice would be Storms River and/or Wilderness instead of or in addition to Plettenberg Bay. So much to see and do. This place is great http://www.theoceanview.co.za the ocean view accommodations in Storms River Mouth https://www.sanparks.org/parks/garde.../storms_river/ or The Fernery.
Yes, spend as much time as you can in the area.
Golfers? Play Fancourt or one of the other excellent courses.

We did about the same in April 2004. We drove back through Mosselbay and Swellendam on the N2. Visited Knysna and Wilderness, spent the night in Swellendam and drove to Cape Town the next day, via Bredasdorp, Cape L'Agulhas and Hermanus.
I must say however that the N2 gets a bit boring between George and Swellendam but we did want to see Cape L'Agulhas.

L'Agulhas being the southernmost tip of the continent we thought it was worth the drive. The landscape is different (grassland) asas are the typical white houses. And it's not a very big detour.
