Possible substitute for antimalarials in future

Read an interesting article today that seems too good to be true. However, it is well worth watching. A new antimalarial wristwatch has been developed and will be out next month in S. Africa. Apparently it tests your blood four times a day and if your blood reveals 50 or more malarial parasites you immediately take four pills long before you develop any symptoms and are then certain not to develop malaria

This is certainly too new to have everyone going out and buying now, but in a year or two with good results and tweaking any problems it may well be a good thing for those of us who travel to Africa regularly.

Very cool idea, and perfect for those places where the risk is low and you would rather not take antimalarials the whole time. Can't wait until something like this is out!

Antimalarial wristwatch? Hmmm.... probably originally developed by the Q branch of the British secret service for use by a certain secret agent, code name 007!
