Plug adapter for Tanzania
Hello all
I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out what sort of plug adapter I need so my US plug will fit the Tanzanian outlet. My equipment I will be bringing is all rated up to 240V, so I don't need a converter. But can someone post a picture of exactly what sort of plug adapter I need? TIA!! |
Most outlets take the adapter plug as used in the UK. It's large with 3-flat prongs in a v-shape. You can buy the individual plug, but there were a few places on the mainland and especially on Zanzibar island that took the 2-round prong European plug.
You can buy a kit, about $20, that contains about 6/plugs that fit outlets for most everywhere in the world. The UK plug will be obvious as it's the largest. |
You can see both styles Sandi is referring to in this photo:

For Tanzania you will need a Type G, British 3-pin Plug. (230-240V AC)
