Please help me choose safari
Hello all! I will be in South Africa in March. I have the option at staying at one of the following for three (3) days: Protea Kruger Gate, Honeyguide, and Kings Camp. While I realize the cost differences are material, as this is my first time in Africa, I am most focused on seeing as much of the big 5 as possible and experiencing a "True" safari. I am not planning on renting a car, though I will if the general consensus is that this is the way to go.
What are thoughts on which of the three accomodations is most preferred? Thank you! Brian |
No personal experience but I will pass on a comment a travel agent made to me regarding Kings Camp in Timbavati. She said that all the guests who go there come back raving about the place, more so than other spots.

Interesting about Kings Camp, we will be there 5 nights this coming September. My travel agent was there (with wife and three other guests) last Sep 2006 and said everyone liked KC. They then went to Leopard Hills and he says that LH is "better" but KC an excellent value, is going back, good game drives.

KC is in the Timbavati, north of Sabi Sand area. Not in Kruger, but still bordering Kruger (and Sabi Sand?).
