Please help! Breezes or Ras Nungwi

Hi:
I am having to make a very quick decision (like in the next couple of hours before they are all booked up) between Breezes and Ras Nungwi in Zanzibar.
After a week of safari at the end of June I am looking to chill out for a few days before heading back to the states. I run hot, literally, so I was looking for a place with air-con and ended up with these two choices. I guess I have the conflicting desires of a place that is comfortable, authentic, well-run but not touristy. A nice pool to hang out at and a beautiful beach. At the price point of Breezes and Ras Nungwi. Too much to ask for?
So many of the post I have read here have been incredibly helpful and informative. I am hoping that someone(s) out there can do the same for me.

I suggest you take your time and make the best decision.

FYI, Elewana, the owner of Migration Camp, Arusha Coffee Lodge and Tarangire Tree Tops, is opening two new resorts in Zanzibar. Given the quality of their other properties, I do think their Zanzibar properties would be worth a look, although I don't know if they will be opened by June.

Both are good choices. Ras Nungwi is just a slightly smaller hotel, though not by that many fewer rooms. Another option would be Blue Bay which also has air conditioning, slightly larger than Breezes. Go for it.

We'll be at Ras Nungwi the first week of July after our safari - same time?

I too wanted A/C but wanted a smaller hotel.

Having other Americans there (New Yorkers - well ex-New Yorkers - to boot) may either be a deterrent or an incentive for you!

Maybe we'll see you there!

Thank you for your replies. Leaning toward Breezes. Any further opinions would be greatly welcomed.
Thank you,
Bruce
