Namibia - Windhoek - Hotel Heinitzburg vs. Villa Verdi
We are going to Namibia in about 60 days with one night in Windhoek. Our tour operator has suggested that we consider a switch from the Hotel Heinitzburg to Villa Verdi.
Has anyone recent experience with either properties? Price not a consideration.
thanks!

For what reason did your agent suggest the change.
The Heinitzburg is a higher rated hotel with great views and outstanding meals. The Villa Verdi is a short walk out of town and believe a little less expensive.
If it's just a matter of overnight sleep after arrival, you can go for the less expensive, but if you have time to spend in WDH, the former is a good option also.

Leslie,
I stayed at the Heinitzburg hotel a few years ago and it was terrific at that time. Great views, nice rooms, good service and a wonderful restaurant for dinner.
We will be staying there again for a few overnights during an upcoming return trip to Namibia because our previous experience was very good. I can't comment on the Villa Verdi.

Thanks for the feedback - the agent had heard some concerns about service. We decided to stick with the Hotel Heinitzburg - looks more special and in a better location. will report back when we return in early May.

lkbside,
Look forward to reading your report after you return. Our trip to Namibia is later on and I will be interested to hear your comments regarding your overall itinerary and experiences. I hope the Heinitzburg is still up to standards. Have a great time.
