For those who live in the US who haven't had the opportunity to see the Planet Earth Series it will begin to be shown in 11 episodes on Discovery and Discovery HD beginning 3/25 8pm eastern time. I have seen a few clips and it looks incredible. I know that it will be available on DVD in April as well in a US version on 5 DVDs both in a HD and standard definition version. The rumor is the standard version has extra footage not available on the HD version...a little strange huh? (Although that may only be the case on the UK version.)
Also series 3 of Big Cat Diary(this is the 2006 series not yet shown in the US) will be available in May in the UK...so get your region free DVD players ready!

I've seen the first two discs of Planet Earth and it is without a doubt the best nature filming that I have ever seen. Ground breaking stuff, I can't wait to see it in HD.

I have the dvd set (UK version from amazon UK) awesome!!! The extra footage is actually, part of the episodes where they show the making of certain clips....like, the wild dogs in Botswana etc etc.,
