Jan, Your pictures are wonderful - the Desert Rose in bloom was beautiful. Will have to add Tsavo East, Kocha tent to the places to visit list! All those ellie boys at the waterhole, tuskers galore!!! And add more lions - wow - you were quite right to just sit and enjoy from the veranda. Deb

Really enjoyed your photos, Jan. And I want to hang out on that veranda.

The one bull surrounded by his "lady friends" is a particularly beautiful shot.

Jan,

I'm relatively new to the forum. Your pictures are tremendous - but I'm curious, I will be traveling to Kenya in late June and will be north of the Mara visiting rural schools for a week or so, I plan to spend 4 to 5 days extra and go to the Mara and maybe on to Amboseli - would you recommend just staying at a second camp in the Mara or taking the extra travel time and money to go to Amboseli, the main interest in see Kili and a different ecosystem - I noticed on your photos, out of 253 you only had 1 or 2 of Mt Kili, was this on purpose or because the mountain we not visible very often.

Thank you.

Dma, Mt. Kili is often shrouded in clouds. I was in Amboseli one August and the best we could do is a quick 5-minute peek in 3 days. It's hard to say if you'll be luckier, or not. If you're traveling in Kenya to the north of Nairobi, you might get a chance to see Mt. Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa. It's snowcap isn't quite as impressive as Mt. Kili's, but Kili is fast losing its snowcap, too.
