Some beautiful shots. You obviously used some pretty nice camera equipment as seen by the wonderful results with lighting and sharpness in your photos. Really liked the head shot of the lion.

How did you get down so low...were you out of the vehicle? Also what size lens do you use. Are you shooting digital and what size megapixels or do you shoot raw format

Thanks everyone for your comments on my pictures.

John: For thes pictures I used a Nikon D70 (6,1 megapixels - Jpeg fine). I always sit next to the driver because of the better angle you get. I used the follwoing lens: 300mm F2,8 (+teleconverter 1,4).

Next trip I am using the Nikon D2x + Nikon D200 and the following lenses:

Nikon 200mm-400mm F4;
Nikon 80mm-200mm F2,8.

So you recommend sitting in the passenger seat nxt to the driver? I know the last row is awful as it is way too high. I always assumed the row right behind the driver was the best. You are not too high and u can slide around from left to right depending on sightings (and hopefully not a full jeep)

Since, i will try to hv a prvt vehicle during my nxt trip....i will try sitting nxt to the driver, i guess he can aim for the best angles since he wont hv a car full of ppl to satisfy. I guess, the tracker will hv to get to the back when we come across the big cats.....

Also, the passenger seat is probably more comfortable also?

If you are tryin' to keep up with the dogs, it's far more easier to sit on the front seat.

Also you don't have to much to bother for potholes ...

And if you are taking a private vehicle at Kwando, the tracker is sitting in the back when you come across the cats. It's also much better for birding. Too much people, too much talk and the birds will probably fly away.

And if you come across an interesting sighting you can always swith places in case you need a certain angle.

fabulous pictures!! Where are you going in May? I am going beginning of June to Kwetsani, Chitabe and Savuti. I hope I can experience all these wonderful sights. thank you for sharing these inspiring photos.
