Photos From Our Amazing Trip to Egypt

Great photos.
You had me cruising up and down the Nile rememberging the various temples: Believe #55 is Kom Ombo temple, from the overhangs above the entrance (the double temple, two of everything)... beautiful when lit at night. #62 is Luxor Temple (not Karnak Temple)at Luxor - it's the the palm/papyrus court. #124 - I found a phalic carving (also attached to a figure) in a nook at Luxor temple. Mine was actually at eye level. Where was the one your partner so clearly measures above his head? LOL! The last temple photos are at Edfu, the best preserved of the temples, though the temple at Esna (if you stopped here) is the only temple with the roof still intact. And then, of course, Philae... this temple was also relocated (as was Abu Simbel) when the High Dam built and so many of the archeological sites were flooded. Thanks for the memories! |
Thanks for the corrections. It's so hard to remember all the names. We found the phalic carving at Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
It was a wonderful trip. So many great experiences and memories. |
Just had a chance to view your photos - brought back lovely memories. Thanks for posting them.
