Photos from Cyn's Great (African) Adventure

Ok ok - I KNOW!!! I have not done my trip report. My problem is ...there's something really sad that I don't want to deal with. Bear with me... I'll get to it - it's just that even now, 4 months later, it still hurts. In the meantime, I'm sharing some of the 2600+ photos that I took!!! (And I have an ulterior motive - I need advise!) . Comments and corrections (for as far as I got in my comments) are welcome!

GREAT PICTURES CYN! Loved the giraffe at sunrise, the zebras in the river, mahale, the rhinos at the lake, the Victoria Hotel, elephants at Sheldricks and your sunsets and sky pictures...the sky is so blue, and of course the birthing was exciting to see. Thanks for sharing and when you feel better, write that report...take your time. Aloha, Dennis

Cyn - yes there is a brief hold up after the first album. Didn't realize that you combined albums. If you just wait a brief moment the subsequent albums come up.

Your cat pics are great and the Tommie birthing, WOW! Went thru them rather quickly as I was waiting on my photos to upload to Kodak.

Will have another looksee when I can; you did real good on so many of them.

... and it sure looked like you had a great safari.

Well it's good to have you back Cyn. I've been wondering about you. Don't feel so badly about the late photo post, I just put mine up last week. I do hope everything is ok with you or at least getting better. You can e me if you'd like [email protected]

Anyhow, your pics. were a delight to look at. The birth of the gazelle was spectacular as well as everything else. Looks like you had a trip to remember.
Cheers;
Sherry

cyn,

Thank you for sharing the photos from your epic journey! I am very sorry to hear all is not well with you right now. If/when you're ready, I would love to hear about your trip; I can tell from the pics that there are a lot of great stories involved.

And believe me, I'm the last person you want "correcting" your comments.

Thanks again! I love your trip. WOW.

WOW! Did you get to see it all or what! I can't believe all the babies. And the birth - very cool. I loved the giraffe in the sunset. You have many great shots! I look forward to reading your trip report.

Cyn - the photos are spectacular!

The very first link you posted works just fine. All 11 albums follow one another automatically.

What can I say - which did I like the best? So hard to choose. The griaffe on the horizon in the sunset was really special. The tiny lion cubs had me giggleing, the leopard cubs were lovely - but the gazelle birth series!! That is without equal! I envy you the experience. How long did it take till the baby was on it's feet?

Really very sorry to hear that you had such a sad and painful experience. I hope that it didn't ruin the trip for you.

Sometimes sharing does help, if you can bring yourself to do it.

BTW - which camp was that in the Serengeti? What month were you there July?

Thank you so much for all of the work and effort in posting. I really enjoyed this very much.

Just had a chance to look through them all. I'm insanely jealous

You were very lucky with babies. Rusinga Island looks lovely. Did you camp on Solio?

Cyn, I am really sorry to hear you had a sad experience, hope you feel better soon.

I'm working my way through your photos (I've only got a very slow dial up so it takes forever). I second Wayne on the leopards in Nakuru - right now I'm considering adding either one or two nights in Nakuru - where did you stay? Would you recommend one or two nights (I would have to cut a night from the Mara to get two in Nakuru)?
That 'Elephant eye' photo is absolutely stunning - how did you do it? I just purchased the same camera as you (FZ30 right?) and am a complete beginner but your photos are an inspiration.
Also, the Elephant Orphanage visit looked like fun - did you visit between 11 and 12 or was it outside of those hours (I don't see the ropes to separate the visitors and Elephants which you normally see during visiting hours).

Thanks so much for posting pictures!! Too many great ones for me to pick out favorites. Particularly like the numerous birds especially the owls. Viewing your albums was just what I need as a case of the African "blues" were setting it. Dick

Cyn, thanks for sharing your photos. The birth of the tommie was really special. And all the babies: baby ele, baby jackal, baby vervet, baby baboon, baby lion, baby waterbuck, baby leopard!, baby buffalo, baby hartebeest, baby topi! (it looked so big it should go eat some grass and not bother its skinny mum), baby ostrich, baby giant forest hog!!!, baby giraffe, baby wildebeest, baby hippo, baby cheetah. Were there any more? I think it’s the first time I’ve seen photos from Ruma NP and Kenyan roan. I loved all the photos and I’m so jealous. I’m sorry that something sad happened.
