Permethrin...need to bring?

I was reading that clothes and mosquito nets should be treated with permethrin, so do I need to bring some with me? I've got Ultrathon for the skin. Thanks!

I assume that you are leaving soon?

It is the dry season in most of Africa. While there is a risk from mosquitos, mosquitos in Africa (1) come out after dusk and (2)do not bite through clothing.
The most effective way to deal with them is (1)long sleeves, long pants and socks after dusk and (2)a deet based repellent , like ultrathon on exposed skin. Since the mozzies don't bite thru clothing, you don't really need permethrin on clothing.

Permethrin is recommended for mozzie nets because nets are not laundered very frequently so it lasts fairly long, and because the local population cannot afford insect repellent the way tourists can.

The only things that bite thru clothing are tsetse flies, and nothing works against those. Sorry.

So no real need for permethrin on your clothing for East or Southern Africa.
Now is you are going to Eastern Africa...South America or Asia the answer might be different. (Different insects, and some of those might bite through clothing.)
