Percy, after a busy and fun weekend in Chicago, I now had a chance to go through the rest of your photos.

Thanks for the extra Petra pics. They are wonderful, as are all the rest. You and your fellow travelers did a great job capturing the sights.

We have not yet been to Tel Aviv. If we go back to Israel, we will visit it then. Your photos brought back a lot of good memories from the other areas we hit in that interesting and historical country.

Wow Percy, awesome pictures and great narrative.
There are numerous churches in the world named after pivotal events in Christianity but in Israel those churches are where the event occurred. Its an amazing feeling.
We floated in the Dead sea too as thats all you can do. Yes you are right you cant sink. I had read you should never taste its water and told my wife that. Our guide told us the same thing. So while we are floating I hear my owe cry out "Oh yukee its takes so bad! ." . She listens like Lots wife sometimes. .
Did you happen to notice huge what I call river rats in the river Jordan? They are called nutria and are not natural to that area but once they are introduced they are hard to get rid of. They are also in the NOLA area. Saw them on Bizarre Food episode with Andrew Zimmern. When we were there there were quite a few swimming about.
Again great TR!! Thank you.

Thanks dcd:

Glad you made it home safe from Chicago.
Thanks for your help about Petra.
There were a few caves I was not going to go in...
but your Petra friend told me that you

had gone in them...so I had to go and step in your foot prints.

jacketwatch, my boy from Illinois.

Thanks for following me along and sending me those emails and hockey scores.

You are a good friend so enjoy your retirement .

I'm quite enjoying your photos and descriptions, Percy. Almost made it to Jordan some years back on a business trip, but there was too much unrest at the time. It's still on my list, though.

Thank You for finding me here jerseysusan.

Yes it was a fascinating trip, I walk in the places and to see the places that Christ walked when he was on earth is just a special event.

and Jordan was such a lovely surprise that it amazed me.. I knew about Petra and Wadi Rum but I never thought the rest was so beautiful.
