Kavey, just a thought: if the prices quoted now will be frozen, i.e., no increase in late 2003 when 2004 prices are published, that might be an interesting determinant. I say this because I recently went through the phase you're into now, having given the itinerary to a number of relaible agents for their quotes, and I must say it all worked out very well indeed. By the way, can you tell me when you'll be going - fall 2004? Who knows, maybe I'll see you guys at a "sundowner", lol. Take care! Now if we could get Liz to make a repeat in '04 and join us, we'd be all set! Have a great holiday and New Years all of you!!

RnR
Yes I believe once I have a price it will be fixed for 2004.
We'll be going in June 2004, all things being well.
And don't for a moment think me rude, but one of the best things for us is getting away from everything and everyone we know - so although I would love to meet you and Liz some day, I'd have to say that I wouldn't want to do so in Africa! Will you ever forgive me my honesty?
Of course, I am expecting you to fit in a meal in Central London with me when you fly to Africa via London...<BR
Kavey

Well, Kavey, , I was momentarily crushed, but soon recovered. Of course you don't know what you're missing - I normally take the game drives in my tux, and buy the drinks and wine for the meals. I'm always voted most congenial. But certainly I will see you in London, if Africa is out of the question. Do post your itinerary when it's set - I know it will be fab!!!

Rnr-
Thank you for the kind words. I too think running across each other while on safari would be great! To spend an evening at the same camp, have dinner and sit by the bonfire would be wonderful to share. I've run into many people who are not really into Africa as I am, and to share that experience briefly with someone affected the same way would be a moment to savor.
Now that ever happening is quite remote since we will be there in 2003 and you will be there in 2004. I am quite sure we will not be back that quickly. Thats why we added the extension to our safari.
The thought is nice though and I would long remember the evening spent sharing something so dear to my heart. Liz

... and in my tux, my first toast shall be to my chaps, Liz and Kavey, fellow travellers who apparently were bitten by the same bug that gnashed me and now I have africa coursing through my blood, and they say there's no treatment but to go back for another bite!

Liz, we are expecting one hell of a report - every minute, private or otherwise. Leave nothing out!

Kavey, post that itinerary soonest, very!

Take care, chaps, I'm off to a warm climate for a while, but will check in upon return. Best to your and yours.

Rock and Roll!

Hi there. Great information on this post. We are planning our September 2003 honeymoon, and have considered a safari, africa experience. The problem is that we only have 2 weeks, departing from the NY area. My fiance grew up near Victoria Falls (he's british), so we were thinking that we might do half safari, half victoria falls. Any thoughts on the do-ability of this in such a relatively short amount of time are greatly appreciated.

Many thanks. Kelly
