Thanks Momliz. I was finally going to post my pics and was not looking forward to using Yahoo for that. Too much work and time required to upload. Will check out the recommendations when I get home.

I don't love Smugmug either. But . . .
What I want is one that gives you a blank page. You set the background color or pattern from color samples, not from a list of byte coded colors. You type in words and can change the font,type size and color just as you can in MSWord. You position the words by drag and drop anywhere on the page.You then download photos on to the page(s) It is ok if the photos are already pre-sized for the page, e.g. 800 pixels. Add captions in any font-size-color same as before. Change the borders around the photos by drawing a line box and then changing the line properties. Etc, etc, stuff like that, WYSIWYG.
What I do not like is having to use a language like HTML (that I do not know).
Here's what I don't want to do but that I had to do to set up my Smugmug banner page -
#my_banner {
display: none;
width: 730px;
height: 378px;
margin: 25px auto;
background: url(http://tomgraham.smug (chopped here due to lenght of url)
}
Not all that long and involved but the first time you do it takes hours to figure out. True of everything on the computer. All you have to know is which clicks and keystrokes are required.

I started using kodak and have been happy....BUT I may not know what Im missing. Ive been happy with the picture albums they make until recently when some photos came out really dark. In addition to that, the editing tooks seem very basic. Now that Im starting (notice I use the word starting) to get more involved Im finding it limiting. Anyone here who has used kodak and switched?

cary999, my pbase account was easy to set up. I used Pbase stock templates and I found it easy to navigate. Like anything it takes a little getting used to, but I like it.

I use pbase as well. I am totally agree with Chris. Compared with others, I think it's the one of the best online photo galleries.
