Calo -
Hell NO!
Though lately I've been going au natural!
Boring, boring, boring... Summer Coral looks so good with a tan, so guess the color will go back on all the digits!

Four more "get-ups" (sleeping is the easy part, I count getting my bucket out of bed!). Leave May 17, return June 2.
First time to East Africa; Nairobi, Finch Hatton, Amboseli Serena, Bateleur, Serengeti Serena, Ngorongoro Sopa, Manyara Serena. Using Daniel at DKGrand with lots of advise from LyndaS and others on this board. Originally had Larsens instead of Finch, but Mama Nature had other plans.
We have packed and repacked twice and finally got the weight down!
Will file a trip report soon after we return.

Finch Hatton's has an amazing chef, assuming he's still there. I can still taste the soups - pumpkin and celery - outstanding and I'm not a soup person. And, of course, everything else put in front of us.
Going in May you have low-season rates... good for you. Just don't be surprised to find "high" grasses. But everything is beautifully green, flowers are a-bloomin' and the game are happy!

Safari Njema Sandi - I am thrilled for you - off on another expedition...with great stories upon return I am sure.
You are so helpful to everyone I just wanted to throw in my happy travels to you - and of course party hard for everyone with Nanciej

moneyburns - hey, if Nancie and I party too hard (is there really any "too hard"), we may never be allowed to return! Is so, we'll just go to another camp and party there.
Have notes all over reminding me that I have to do a trip report this time; any hopefully finish the one from '08.
Asante all!

Maybe you can just spend the summer and meet me in Sept. at Serian! I think there is plenty of room on the deck for all;
and yes I do recall there is a trip report missing (out of many of your fabulous informative ones over the years)--
so we expect a two-fer!
Have a great time!

What does your packing list include that you will be 'under weight?" I always find myself barely under the max allowed. Maybe if you have time you have some good ideas I could "borrow??"
Have a great trip-I am going to Kenya & Tanz in Aug-Sept 2011, and am combing this website to help me decide what places to be sure to include & who to book with. So thanks to all of you who are asking the questions, and thanks to all of you who are sharing your insights!!

karn - it really comes down to only needing enough changes of clothing for where I stay the longest. Ex: 3-4/days, then only that many changes. Then you alternate, besides being able to have laundry done inexpensively, if it's not already included in your rates. Toss in a few extra t-shirts and you're pretty much set. Yes, the list was long when I first visited, but has gotten shorter over the years, when I realized I was always returning with something/s not worn.
No clunky shoes, only moccasins; 1-2 outer jackets, fleeces or sweaters.
Otherwise, it's often the "stuff" that takes up space and weight... beauty, hair, meds, etc. etc.
Besides, we're not packing winter clothing... no wools, leathers, etc.; mostly light-weight cotton or (god forbid) if synthetics, which you won't find on me
