Nile & Kenya

Im planing to visit Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia and mabey Congo and I was wondering how much wildlife you will see in those places. IN Egypt can you take camels to see the pyramids and can you take a cruise down the Nile right to Lake Victoria

Kyle-- yes, you can take camels up to the Giza pyramids. It doesn't cost that much money to do it. If you have some questions about Egypt, you can email me and I'll try to help.

Kyle-- don't know about the Nile cruise going that far, but as for Cairo, you'll need at least a week to explore the city. Make sure you spend time in the Cairo Museum, Khan-al-Khalili marketplace, Islamic Cairo (especially the Muhammad Ali mosque and palace), and go up to the Giza pyramids. If you have time, go down to Luxor to the Valley of the Kings and Queens. And don't miss Abu Simbel if you get the chance!

There is a lot of wildlife to be seen. But, the type of wildlife is dependant on the area you visit.
Ngorogoro in Tanzania is unbelievable for the Walt Disney-like nature drives. Serengeti is good as well. The others I have been to both in Kenya and Tanzania require more time to see fewer animals. But, each has its special character and animal.

I've cruised the Nile three times and also been on safari to Tsavo East and West in Kenya staying in tented camps. Nile cruises don't go beyond the high dams. Crossing Somalia and Ethiopia is not recommended. Camping in the foothills of
Kilimanjaro is wonderful - you will see a huge array of wildlife if you are lucky - be sure to go on a night time safari - it's amazing !!
