New Wilderness Seba camp, Botswana?
Hi! Just wondering, if anyone has more info on the Seba camp recently added to the Wilderness camps in the delta?
In terms of area....what concession is it in etc etc??? Thanks Hari |
Hari,
Here's the latest on Seba... Seba Camp (pronounced Say-ba), set to open in June 2006, is situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta and offers secluded, luxurious accommodation overlooking a lagoon teeming with animal and bird life. The camp is named after Seba, one of the elephants released from nearby Abu Camp. A number of elephants that were released back into the wild have formed their own herd, and the interaction between these and the wild herds in the area forms the basis for elephant research being done in the area. Guests can observe the researchers at work, often in close proximity to the elephant herds. Other activities include mokoros (depending on water levels), walks and motor boats. Seba has five spacious, elevated tents, designed to blend in with the Okavango landscape. Each has an en-suite bathroom and private deck on which to relax and observe the passing wildlife. The dining and bar areas are also set on a raised teak deck with spectacular views. Seba Camp is priced at Botswana Classic Camp rates. James |
James,
Thanks, appreciate all your inputs. Hari |
Has anyone been brave enough to try this camp yet? If so can you offer feedback? I am looking for info on the guiding, good, bad, indifferent? Since its in ABU's concession, any idea if they do night drives? Use trackers? Actually, its quite a wet area, do they do drives at all?
Appreciate the response, saw jweiss's but that is pretty much the language from the Wilderness website./ |
We stayed at Seba in July:

Thanks Marija, I appreciate your comments.
Seems like the game viewing was a little thin, but maybe that could change in drier months? |
We went to Seba for the water activities, since it is featured as a "water" camp. I think you can do better than Seba for game viewing.

And that I will.....

Here is a link to Alison's trip report on Seba. It's the only one I remember when doing my research for my Bots trip.
