New to iphoto software
Hi! I recently switched over to MAC and find the colors on the MacBook Pro pretty unbelievable!!!
Do any of you like using the iphoto software that is inbuit? do you think that is a good enough substitute to photoshop? This is as easy to use IMO..... i haven't tried printing from this as yet, though...... Thanks Hari |
FWIW, for photo editing I prefer "believable" colors to "unbelievable" colors.

I think iPhoto is a good basic tool. It is not as powerful as Photoshop Elements, let alone Photoshop CS3, but it's convenient and handles most routine chores.
You can calibrate your monitor to more reliably predict what the printer will produce. Click on System Preferences, then Displays, then Color. Check the "expert mode" box. You walk through five calibration screens. Then they ask you to select a "target gamma" -- slide over to PC Standard. Next screen is Whitepoint -- keep it around D65. Then name your profile and you're done. You can switch between the default it came with and the custom profile you have created by returning to the "Color" window. |
Fra,
Thanks for the tip on color. I have had a Mac for a little more than a year, but haven't done anything creative with my photos yet. Hari--will be following your progress and advice. CW |
Fra: Thanks for your inputs, i'll give it a try!
CW: Still learning to use this thing ..... will keep you posted! Thanks Hari |
