Cybor,

Quote "Goeff,
This doesn't sound good. As a novice I figured that this wouldn't have any effect by July/August.
I'd also love to hear your thoughts regarding the effects of the flooding on L.Vumbura and Chitabe.
Thank you."

Hopefully other roads in the concession will be usable by July.

There has not been that much water in the area for a few decades.

On a positive note Amber (leopard) has 2 new cubs and is comfortable showing them to vehicles. Also the Selinda pride (has cubs in tow) and has returned from its southern Kwando concession jaunt.

Unfortunately I can not give an opinion at to the likely affect of flooding on L.Vumbura & Chitabe. I have only been to Chitabe before and it was during a very dry period.

The itinerary actually sounds excellent. I have canoed at Mana Pools before and it is a mind-blowing safari experience. I am also (provisionally) going to Somalisa this year too.

Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

I liked OB's report on the Selinda site. Very refreshing!!!

Sounds like they lost one of the cubs(from the same report). I guess they are almost one year old now and hope they are able to pull through!

jns,
Your photos are fabulous - what camera did you use. Your close ups, wildlife and landscape shots make me more excited about going.
Thank you so very much for posting.

Geoff,
Good news about Amber - good to know life goes on. Keep us posted if you hear more.
When are you going to Somalisa? Can you rec. a guide. Dennis's guide is gone.
Any pics. or info. on the Mana pools? Can't get enough of this stuff.

Ibj,
Will look for your report.
