I am hoping the tiger #s take an upward swing. I was reading some World Wildlife Fund info and they optimistically compared their efforts (and those of many around the world) with white rhinos to tigers. There were about 100 white rhinos in Southern Africa in one location in 1900 and 17,000 exist today in many locations, according to my Jan-Feb 2010 Focus Issue.
But we need locations for those tigers.

Lynn.... great... let me know when u plan to come to india
Well, just updating on gir, a few of my friends visited gir recently and saw a good amount to lions
Also in gir they have a census in march, in which individuals can participate and stay overnight with the government staff inside the core areas in the reserves where there are no hotels, all hotels are outside the parks
