Namq Bay

I am visiting namq bay at easter -
how accessible are nearby towns (by taxi/public transport etc.)?
also we don't dive - what other activities are there for us to do?
lastly, my friend will be celebrating her birthday while we are there - any recommendations for a birthday treat?
Thank you, Ria

If you're a non-diver there will be very little to do in the Sharm-El-Sheikh area. There is the beach and the sea, of course, but most resorts concentrate on scuba divers/snorkelers.
You can make a few day excursions: St. Catherine Monastery on Moses Mountain in the Sinai desert, sunrise in the Sinai, a snorkeling trip to Ras Mohammed, and that's about it.
The hotel will probably provide a free shuttle to Naama Bay (20 min. drive) a few times a day. Do not expect to see the real Egyptian life in Naama Bay as it's a pure tourist area with lots of neonlights. Sharm El Sheikh itself (7 km further) is a little more authentic.
