Namibia -Okonjima Lodge
 

Since Serra Cafema is booked at the ime we want to go, our travel agent has suggested the above camp. Has anyone stayed there?

No sorry but felt I should let you know,We just found a great special with www.caprivi.info hope this is ok.
We are flying from Windhoek returh to 2 5 star lodges on the east caprivi of namibia.(2 nights Lianshulu Lodge, 2 nights Chobe Savanna Lodge)and they have a special at the moment.Just so you can have a look.

I stayed at Okonjima bush camp 2 weeks ago and I can highly recommend it over the lodge. The bushcamp has individual, thatched semi open rooms which are fantastic. It has a much nicer feel that the lodge.
The staff are all great (with one exception) and the Africat Foundation is a fascinating visit.

Thanks for the review. Can you tell us about the camp activities? We are thinking of ending a 2 week trip thru Namibia with a 2 night stay there. Would appreciate your input.

We stayed at Okonjima bush camp for two nights last May (at the beginning of a 2 week trip) and really enjoyed it.

The accommodation was beautiful, the food fantastic (especially the wonderful breakfasts) and the guides knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed the activities and thought there was enough variety for a 2 night stay. However the game viewing is very different from what you get at other camps. Due to the nature of the place, obviously there is more human intervention than elsewhere.

If your happy to rough it stay in the camp in the park you get 6 nights for the price of 1 and stll see the same animals. You also miss out on the greatest waterhole in the world.

I read your report and it was most interesting. Since I posted my message, we have been informed that space is available at Serra Cafema so we will probably go there. Thank you for the info. I will keep it in mind for a future trip.
