If you are able to squeeze one more night at Kicheche Bush I'll come with you as that would be my ideal schedule ;-)
Sounds like a very good plan to me - your itinerary I mean :o) ((@)) |
Just one more thought: 4+3+3???? If squeezing isn't what you like :-)

Hi spassvogel
Yes I think it is a good Itinerary. Ha ur more than welcome to come along. |
Hi, l think 10 days in Masai mara is too much. We have a beautiful country and alot to see also in other places. Y ou could have visited others parks too and see our unique and diverse flora and fauna.
|
Hi i understand why u might think its to long. But i never been to Kenya. I like to stay in one area, But my next trip i will go visit the other parks, and see the rest of your beautiful country.

Looks good Jessyirish!

Hi everyone help
I am going to book with my local travel Agent which I got good price € 3,640. inc all my flights travel insurance. Problem is going to stay 5 nights governors. and 5 nights Intrepids or Kicheche Bush camp. But cant decide which camp is better. I know intrepids do 3 game drives daily. Thanks |
jessyirish, just got back from the Masai Mara, first time in Kenya, and agree that 10 nights in the Mara is not too long. I spent 7 nights there (including 3 at Governors and 1 at Little Governors) and 3 more nights would have been easy to take. All the camps I stayed at offered an early morning drive, then breakfast followed by a short drive (plus a late afternoon drive of course). I suggest that you ask the driver/guide to take along a picnic breakfast and that you stay out as much of the a.m. as possible (5-6 hrs), with a short break for the picnic breakfast.

Thanks sdb2
Thats funny i just sent an E Mail to get a quote for 10 nights in Little Governors. I cant see point in moving from one camp to another. Thanks |
Kicheche Bush does game drives for as long as the guests agree on. Full day drives isn't a problem at all. Both Kicheche camps go with their guests flow. No restrictions as such!
Bush camp is excellent - desoite I love both camps - particularly good and provides a unique and very personal experience. Give it a go! You won't regret it! ((@)) |
You're welcome, jessyirish. I spent time in three camps so I could get some idea of the differences and to learn about the various camps. I found that Little Governors is in fact, as many at this forum had suggested to me, a wonderful camp. By the way, the driver I had at LG was Joshua and he is outstanding.

Oops - I just read10 days is too much for the Mara.
That's a pretty isolated opinion. I could LIVE there ;-) We have spent 14 days in a row at Kicheche Mara once. We could have extended for another week; envied by many others when they heart we were staying 5 and 6 times their time ;-) ((@)) |
I recently got back from 10 nights all in the Mara too. Not too much at all!
|
Hey Jess,
Even my HyperActive Mr.MoneyB wanted to extend our 7 nts in the Mara to l0! He could not get enough, so IMO, those that say it is too much are staying at the wrong places. You got your spots; take it easy and think about the amazing experience ahead of you I am on an island and after 5 days getting getting antsy; never felt that in Kenya! (yes, that is why I am checking my beloved forum every evening; don't want to miss anything, LOL) Just go for it; I am sharing pics here with my family and it is bringing back fabulous memories. Happy travels, MB |
SV,
Is Kicheche bush in Olare Orok or in Mara north? |
Hi all thanks. I would stay longer but have family which none of them will come with me,
sdb2 yes i will put in a request for Joshua, Kavey did you stay in Serian for 10 nights. Because i might do the same LG. 10 nights moneyburns thanks. Africa is addictive lol Yes Haris Kicheche Bush is in Olare Orok. Thanks all |
Yep, Serian all 10 nights BUT that included 4 nights out at their mobile.
|
Thanks...
|
Though, on her recent trip, Kavey spent all 10/nts at Serian, this wasn't her first visit to Kenya and not her first stay at Serian which, if I recall was for 4/nts. After her earlier experience at Serian she apparently decided that for her return visit, 10/nts would be good.
