Has anyone been to Muchenje Safari Lodge, Chobe,in the last 12 months? I am planning on spending 2 nights there in December but have read mixed reviews on the amount of wildlife I might see. Any comments would be appreciated.

Not in the last 12 months, but it is a nice option for a smaller lodge near Chobe. It is on a scenic ridge overlooking the Caprivi Strip/Namibia. Only about 20 minutes (max) from the park gate. I really don't think the wildlife has changed at Chobe much'll see big big herds of elephants (the primary reason to go to Chobe) and typically lots of lions. The elephant herds are wonderful by the river (best way to see & photograph them is by boat, although you can get very very close to elephants on land too, because they seem extremely habituated to tourist vehicles. The boat trips are the most enjoyable way to see Chobe, I think...although you must do game drives to see the lions. Other game is mixed and not very dense (my experience).
