Mt. Kilimanjaro

My wife and I are considering booking with Abercrombie & Kent to climb Kilimanjaro in Jan. or Feb. of 2003. We know, of course, that it's long and strenuous but would appreciate any and all comments from those who've done it, either with A & K or other outfits. I'm mainly interested in your thoughts re the real degree of difficulty, scenery, etc, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Bob

Hi Bob

We did it a few Christmases ago and I guess we'll die very old with the most wonderful memories.

Expect VERY basic accommodation, very fuelling basic food and a very arduous final ascent to either Gillmans point the tourist top ) or the real top which is Uhuru Peak.

It is strenuous because of the altitude: don't know your ages - don't even think about it with asthma or if unfit.

Visit Arusha game park before or after to see some wildlife.

Give me more info and I'll comment further if you'd like

Regards
Carol
