Mount Lebanon summer vacation

My wife and I with two children are planning to spend our summer vacation from mid Augest until mid Sept. in mount Lebanon Bhamdoun or Aley or Broummana, etc. for the first time.
Do you recommend specific resort or apartment complex ? or ant internet site ? Rent price is not a problem.

Thank you;

hi alpacino,

I'm from Aley orginally, but I live in the states since a long time. This summer I will be in Lebanon during the month of July, unfortunatly I would be leaving early August. Let me know if you still need help finding accomodation, I can certainly get you in touch with some friends to help you, I think a friend of mine once mentioned to me that he rents a furnished appartment every summer, I hear that it is the best saving over a hotel or other lodging esp. that you are spending more there a month.

You will enjoy Lebanon, it is amazing esp. in the summer, and you will love your stay in the moutain, let me know if you need some suggestions on hot spots to visit.

From driving through Bhamdoun over the weekend, I would definitely go for Broumanna or alternatively nearby Beit Mery. I thought Bhamdoun was a bit of a dump. is a good reference point for Lebanese websites. Enjoy some of the worst and aggressive driving in the world as you come down from the mountains to Beirut - watch out for the cars overtaking 5 cars at one time on the bends or maybe better to just close your eyes.
