Mosquito netting

Someone awhile back mentioned buying bridal veil fabric in Cairo to protect themselves from mosquitoes. The person mentioned that there was no way to hang the fabric from the ceiling.

I'm curious as to how anyone might have used mosquito netting successfully. The camping supply stores that I've checked only have
a product that must be hung from above to drape over the user.

I don't look forward to being attacked by swarms of mosquitoes or flies, so I would appreciate any ideas.

If you are staying in a modern hotel with air-conditioning or on a Nile cruise ship while you are in Egypt, why do you think you need mosquito netting? I don't recall ever being bothered by mosquitos or flies in Egypt. Certainly not in my hotel room. If you are out in the country at dusk you may find a few. Mosquitos in general don't fly higher than, perhaps 2 stories. Unless you are doing something unusual, I don't think there is problem.
