Morocco (Fez) to Granada

I've seen lots of posts on how to get to Morocco from Spain, but what about: (a) the other way around (ideally the simplest route from Fez to Granada); and (b) are there any restrictions on non-Europeans taking the Tangiers-Algeciras route? I thought I read something recently that said that those without European passports can't use one of the routes between Morocco and Spain, but I can't remember which one it is. Also, we haven't settled on Fez as our final stop in Morocco after Marrakech (and a hike in the Atlas Mountains). Does anyone have any suggestions for a final, 2-day stop in Morocco. I think we'd like to avoid Casablanca and Tangier (except as a transit point for ferries or planes), but maybe you could suggest somewhere relatively nearby so that we can easily make the transfer to Spain? Thanks.

I made it across from Tangiers to Algeciras without a problem, but did have a spot of trouble on the way back to Tangiers because I didn't realise I had to get my (American) passport stamped on the ferry prior to disembarking.

I have not been myself, but you may want to look into Essaouira or Agadir for your final stop.

When did you go?

I think it was about September in 2000.

Fez is fabulous - can't think of a better choice. re ferry - the sort of info you seek must be available somewhere on the web - try google (you could try a search for Ceuta assuming that is still a point of departure) or post on the Thorn Tree for up to date info.

Lucky you - your trip sounds amazing!
