Morocco during Ramadan

Hello,
We were planning to visit Morocco during the week of Thanksgiving, but realized that is during Ramadan. How would that affect travel? Are public transportation (trains), restuarants, public markets, etc affected? Would it be better to head someplace else and leave Morocco for another time? Many thanks, Sandy

We were in Morocco toward the end of Ramadan 2001. Things were open, albeit on an abbreviated schedule; there also weren't many tourists there then (not sure if this is b/c of Ramadan or post 9/11) which meant we got more than our fair share of people offering to be tour guides, harassing us, etc. I would recommend going at another time.

I was there during Ramadan about 3 years ago and everything was open. The only reminder we got from our tour guides was not to smoke in public. We visited the all the tourist areas.
