Fascinating stuff, thursday. Quite how this person survives in here is beyond me. However, I have elicited a response.

fodors.com posting guidelines

Please remain civil and refrain from personal attacks on other posters. Sarcasm, no matter its intent, is a tricky thing to interpret online and may be perceived as a personal attack.Personal attacks and offensive comments will be removed and can result in the suspension of your account.

I'd say this exchange is perfectly civil. The best defence is truth.

For example, you have touted insuremytrip.com over seven hundred times in the last twelve months. Yup, I counted.

That is fact, not a personal attack.

If bringing a staggering figure like that to the moderator's attention gets me banned, well, then this site is yours.

Strangely, the same thing happened to one contributor in Thorntree. He was banned and all his posts were removed.

Now, what was his name...? Oh, it was you.

That is fact, not a personal attack.

So, while I have your attention, perhaps you might consider pulling back from your blizzard of daily replies. Some might call it obsessive. Perhaps you might consider not flogging the same sites hundreds of times. Insuremytrip is just one of many. Perhaps you might consider not attaching links that don't work. Perhaps you might consider not linking to sites that require registration before viewing. Perhaps you might consider telling your beloved newbies that your recommendations are based on trips you made ten, maybe twenty years ago. Perhaps, when you cut and paste from other authors you might consider giving attribution. Perhaps you might refrain from political statements about events in countries you haven't visited in years. Perhaps you might make an attempt to make your posts understandable. Perhaps you might respond to ongoing dialogue in a thread, even to questions about your sources - something you have, I note, failed to do once again.

Why? Because you're really peeing people off.

And that, my friend, is fact, not a personal attack.

And if calling you on this behavior gets me banned, well, I'll be happy to go.

OMG! What is Thorntree? Dogster BTW your profile pic reminds me of a sign on a butcher shop in Delhi. It read "pig meet."

Thorntree is Lonely Planet's version of these forums. Much more, er, free wheeling.

Seems qv also got booted from tripadvisor. Massively prolific posts suddenly stopped Dec 2010.

Doesn't seem to have made it to Frommers yet.

The only light on the horizon is that all these posts still remain. Unfortunately, so does the problem.

Gee, I hope that every post of mine doesn't turn into a thread about QV. I imagine that you are very frustrated, and I'm sure that I will be soon, too, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY would like some suggestions on cars and drivers and touring companies, etc.

thank you

Sorry, but I didn't use a car and driver. Did you read my trip report? I used trains in the north, a bus for Marrakesh-Essaouira, and an Intrepid tour.

I did read your trip report, but there was so much information that it didn't all "stick". I will go back again to the part about M-E. Would you recommend taking the bus to an older woman? Is the train an option (I haven't gotten that far in my planning)?

Alas, I AM an older woman, lol. No train to Ess, bus or car. Better to book the bus a day or so ahead.
