Mokoro trips at safari camps

I will be at the Nxabega camp in the Okavango Delta in August, and the offer mokoro trips that they offer sound wonderful.

Are the mokoro trips in lieu of the morning and evening safari drives (I understand that Nxabega certainly offers the morning and evening drives), are the mokoro trips at midday, or just how do they typically work?

(sorry for the extra word that makes the first sentence hamburger -- it should read, "I will be at the Nxabega camp in the Okavango Delta in August, and the mokoro trips that they offer sound wonderful.")

The mokoro trip we did was in lieu of the morning game drive, although we did a bit of that on the way to and from the mokoros. You will see game from the mokoros, especially birds, red lechwe and hippos. It's a wonderful experience, indeed!

Though I've not be to Nxabega, the mokoro trip was in lieu of a game drive. At least one of mine also included a landing and walk.

Hello,

When I was at Little Vumbura the mokoro trip was in lieu of the morning game drive. Watching the dawn come up over the delta from the water was magical. We landed for tea, and my guide and I tracked and photographed two Pel's fishing owls by listening for their calls -- I'm not a birder, but those big ginger owls were a great sighting!

Cheers,
Julian
