Mining threats in Mana Pools, lower Zambezi River

Mana Pools within the World Heritage Site on the lower Zambezi has been under threat of over-zealous tourism development for a few years now.

This is about to be eclipsed by mining in the Chewore and Ruckomechi Rivers. It'll have a long term and devastating effect on the environment and UNESCO status as a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve.

Zambezi Society, a non-profit conservation organisation is in need of support. Please read the Special Bulletin at http://www.zamsoc.org/?p=1623.
