Hi Mike,
just back from a two days business trip I am happy to hear that you are safely back from Paradise...
We are leaving on tuesday next week so do we have a chance to read your report before leaving??
Just for the packing: How was the weather like? I assume Samburu was very hot and the Mara much cooler... What did you see?? Did you enjoy your trip? How about the flamingoes at Nakuru?
So sorry, I have a thousand questions longing for our own trip and curious what's gonn happen on this Safari.
Thank you so much
best regards

Hi Steff,
Yes normally, everything should be ready for the week-end , perhaps before.
Concerning the weather, July is in Kenya the coolest month of the year.
In the Mara, the sky was overcasted in the morning, and in the evening, we had rain almost every day. One day, we even went back to the camp with heavy rains and thunder storm.
I cannot give you any information about Nakuru, I did not go there this year.
Samburu was warmer than the Mara, but not too hot.
I can understand that you are curious to know what will happen during this trip.
With my experience of the bush, I can tell you that when you go to the bush, expect nothing and the rest is bonus. What I saw is not what you are going to see. The actors are always the same, but the play is always different.
If I enjoy my trip, let me tell you that I always enjoy being in the bush.
Kind regards
Mike

Mike,
thanks a lot, I will try to wait with patience for your report;-))
I didn't know that July is the coolest month, we have been in the Mara last year in May and it was just very rainy but temperature was all right. I don't care to much about the weather, it's just of interest because of the packaging.
No problems about game and what we will see. I am not really experienced but this will be the fourth time to Africa on Safari and as you said, it's just to be in the bush. We don't need to have action, but just enjoy. A dream would be to see wild dogs because we haven't yet.
What would be "not so hot" for Samburu? Dayly temperature over 25 degree celsius or even more? Possibility to swim? And the Mara, rain would not bother but is is cool like wearing a sweater the whole day?
Sorry, but this information would be very helpful...
Thank you so much
best regards

Steff,
August is warmer and dryer than July. Anyway, you will still probably need a sweater in the morning only.
No problem for swimming in Samburu.
If you want to see wild dogs, you should go to Southern Africa, the chances are much more bigger.
Regards
Mike
