Regarding Jerusalem things are normal - I see no reason to cancel your trip just because of one lunatic. The city is beautiful and safe.

As far as Jerusalem and Israel are concerned there is currently absolutely no reason to change your plans.

Agree... Jerusalem is fine, as I assume will be Beirut. However, I'd have an alternative to your planned visit to Syria. Who can say what will happen there or when.

I am in Damascus and have been since Mar. 10th and have encountered no problems whatsover other than traffic jams from pro-govt. supporters. Palmyra is also calm and Aleppo too from what I've heard. There are still lots of tourists here and I feel no threat at all and will stay for another week unless the situation changes.
