Mid Sep in Londolozi, is plunge pool necessary?

I am going to stay in Londolozi in Mid-Sep but cannot decide if stay in Founders or Varty Camp.

Varty has a plunge pool in each room while Founders' rooms are larger and have better view. Sep is Spring and I am not sure if it is warm enough to dip into a unheated plunge pool. Any idea of the size of plunge room in Varty Camp? Which one is a better choice in Mid-Sep? Thanks in advance.

Did not stay at Londolozi but was next door at Mala Mala in Mid Sept. 2008 and if the pool is not heated forget about it! Even the main pool was too cold. Make sure you bring enough warm clothes it was much cooler than we thought it would be.

In my view the plunge pool is absolutely not necessary. It's not warm enough yet in Sept. and the plunge pools are not heated. Just curious why you are choosing the larger camps. Not to confuse you, but we found the smaller camps preferable; Varty seems more like a hotel.

It's still a miracle to me:
Any time we had a plunge pool - tried all seasons! - it was rarely used because they are all FREEZING! And they were not all infinity pools.

I would definitely opt for a great vista!

Plunge pools are great in the summer, but after that not so much. I can't imagine a world where a plunge pool is necessary, it's simply a nice to have when it's really hot.

I was at Londolozi's Bateleur Camp (which I think is now Varty) in late September 2006. I used the plunge pool, mostly to say I used it, but it's hardly a must. I don't remember the water being cold (but I can't remember if it was heated). Great lodge at any rate.

I've used the plunge pool in September (albeit the end of)...the warmthof it depends on what time of day the sun hits the pool.

Mind you it was pretty hot that month...the pool at MM was pretty busy.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I saw the plunge pool pictures in Tripadvisor, which is really small. A larger room/ better view in Founders Camp will work better for me.
