Mena House??
 

Has anyone recently stayed at the Mena House? I am very much concerned about the renovations taken place there. I need some details... Is the entire hotel under construction or just a wing? Is it still worth staying there?I am planning a trip at the end of May and would like a hotel that exudes the Egyptian charm and character. Please advise!! Thank you for any infromation or advice on the Mena or any hotel that is comprable.

We stayed at the Mena House in Feb. of this year. We stayed in the Garden Wing across from the main Hotel, by the pool. They were doing some renovation on the wing between the main part and our wing. It had a green tarp covering the areas being worked on. You couldn't see any of the workers. It didn't bother us at all. We were on the 4th floor facing the Pyramids. Room was nice and the service was great.

I was at the Mena House the week before your enquiry. It's as cougfan said. You won't be effected at all if you stay in the original section -- which is the place to be! Definitely THE place to stay for someone who will be visiting the pyramids.
